Nestlé Waters joins ‘uniquely rewarding’ recycling trial
In a ‘first-of-a-kind’ recycling trial, consumers in the small Welsh town of Brecon can use smartphones to scan a beverage container’s label or sticker for a monetary reward, according to a report in the USA’s Packaging Digest. One of the major brands participating in the trial is Nestlé Waters UK. It runs for 12 weeks from July 13 to October 4, 2023.

Consumer survey: Recycling is top of the sustainability list
Earlier this year, Pro Carton, the European Association of Carton and Cartonboard manufacturers, asked more than 5,000 consumers about their attitudes towards the environment and packaging perceptions. Answers showed that that two in three European consumers from the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy (63%) intend to create a more sustainable lifestyle, and more than half (58%) place recycling at the top of the list to reduce impacts of climate change.
