Amcor’s latest Lift-Off challenge is looking for start-ups to present their rigid packaging and adjacent systems to win collaboration opportunities and potential investment.
Led by the company’s Corporate Venturing & Open Innovation team, Amcor Lift-Off is open to start-ups offering technologies that have been validated beyond the early pilot stage and demonstrate ‘clear’ commercial potential.
This time, Amcor is looking for start-ups that focus on rigid packaging and adjacent systems. Nominated products and technologies should improve performance and/or consumer experience, unlock circularity, or open the door to new business models in one or more of the following categories:
- Shelf-life indicators
- Injection moulding processes and platforms
- Recyclable barrier technologies
- Fibre-based packaging
- Dispenser and applicator systems
- Retort and pasteurization solutions
- Smart packaging
- Rigid and flexible hybrid systems, including refill and reuse models
- Recycling, sorting, and decontamination technologies
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning applications
Applicants will be selected to present their solutions to Amcor’s R&D, commercial, and corporate venturing teams. Successful start-ups will then be able to explore commercial partnerships, pilot projects, and investment opportunities with Amcor, measuring their strategic adoption and scalability.
Submissions will remain open until 8 June 2026. Screening and feedback will close on 20 June, with the Virtual Pitch Day taking place on 30 June.
Previously, Amcor’s Lift-Off Winter 2025/26 Challenge set its sights on flexible and paper-based packaging, including certified home-compostable adhesives and compostable additives that significantly enhance oxygen, moisture and grease resistance in packaging films.
In other news, interpack 2026’s Spotlight Forum dedicated its stage to start-up pitches, a Science Slam for next-generation research projects, and the exchange of ideas between school and university students.
