Constantia Flexibles

Constantia Flexibles has announced that it has acquired a majority of the shares of Swiss company Aluflexpack, a producer of flexible packaging for the food and pharmaceutical sectors.

“We are delighted to welcome Aluflexpack to the Constantia Flexibles Group,” said David Spratt, CEO of Constantia Flexibles. “We believe the combination with Aluflexpack will strengthen our leadership in product innovation and sustainability, and will improve our ability to serve customers with a broader range of packaging solutions.”

Johannes Steurer, CEO of Aluflexpack, stated: “The acquisition by Constantia Flexibles marks an exciting new chapter for Aluflexpack. Over the last decade, we have transformed Aluflexpack into one of Europe’s leading flexible packaging companies. With Constantia Flexibles, we now have a partner that shares our commitment to sustainability and innovation and our team is excited about the potential growth opportunities that lie ahead for both companies together.”

Constantia Flexibles collaborated with Syntegon last year, with its EcoLamHighPlus mono-polyethylene material being run on Syntegon’s advanced PMX packaging platform for coffee packaging. The EcoLam range is fully RecyClass-approved and aims to maintain efficient packaging processes and adapt to future requirements while meeting increasing demand for sustainability-minded packaging solutions.

Also in 2024, the company showcased its “industry-first” aluminium prints at Fachpack, designed specifically for die-cut dairy lids. Elisabeth Skoda spoke to Michael Harder, senior vice president of Dairy and Thomas Schulz, vice president of Group Marketing Communication, about how the company’s new technology can enhance flexibility and efficiency in packaging compared to traditional methods.
