Mondi claims to have delivered a 10% reduction in logistics and production costs for Turkish technology company Argesim Teknoloji by developing a customised corrugated packaging solution for its sensor-based products.

Started in 2023, the collaboration focused on replacing Argesim Teknoloji’s standard ABOX boxes and foam-filled packaging with high-strength, tailored corrugated solutions designed specifically for sensors used in applications such as solar energy systems and grain silos.

Mondi says that by optimizing box dimensions, strength and ergonomics, it eliminated shipment-related production damage and reduced operational risks across the supply chain. The re-designed packaging removed the need for foam materials in response to overseas customer preferences.

The new packaging is designed to integrate seamlessly into Argesim Teknoloji’s existing production and logistics processes, delivering measurable cost savings without requiring additional investment. Mondi adds that improved protection and handling efficiency have helped reduce time losses and ensure smoother deliveries.

Metin Morhayim, sales and marketing director for Mondi Corrugated Turkey, said: “This project demonstrates how tailor-made packaging can deliver tangible value beyond protection alone. By redesigning packaging around the customer’s exact needs, we achieved cost optimisation, improved operational efficiency and supported sustainability goals – all without additional investment.”

In February, Mondi teamed up with Pacapime Hungary to provide high-quality corrugated packaging for delivering fresh produce to its customers in Central and Western Europe. The packaging is said to meet the requirements for reliable strength, durability and effective ventilation to protect produce during transport while maintaining attractive presentation at retail.

At the start of the year, DS Smith Tecnicarton and Zicla collaborated on fibre-based corrugated cardboard packaging intended to provide maximum protection for smart bike-lane separators and their electronic counting components. According to DS Smith, the single packaging format can accommodate two different product models with distinct geometries and dimensions.
