MetsäBoard Pro FBB Go

Metsä Board has unveiled its Pro FBB Go folding boxboard, designed for demanding food and pharmaceutical packaging, and its new custom-cut sheet delivery solution for the European market.

The company says the MetsäBoard Pro FBB Go combines a high-quality, multipurpose folding boxboard with ‘dependable’ sheet availability, developed for fast-moving brand environments. The new solution is designed to deliver consistent quality and performance while supporting compliance needs in regulated food and pharmaceutical segments.

According to Metsä Board, the grade is OBA-free and features hard sizing to support reliable performance in frozen applications. It is also said to reduce packaging’s carbon footprint through lightweighting and a high share of fossil-free energy during its production at the company’s Husum mill.

The boxboard is sheeted at the company’s Sheeting & Distribution Hub in the Netherlands, which can provide custom‑cut sheet formats. Metsä Board states its new FastTrack Service provides folding boxboard sheets in under three weeks in Europe. The company adds that its ExpressTrack Service offers delivery in under ten days to help converters and brand owners reduce excess inventory and maintain agility in a volatile supply chain.

In related news, Stora Enso unveiled its Performa Lumi GC1 folding boxboard designed to deliver ‘premium visual impact and efficient material use’ for everyday beauty, personal care and healthcare packaging. The CTMP board is coated on both sides with a light-coated reverse, said to have high whiteness, ‘excellent’ printability and a smooth surface.

At the end of last year, we spoke to Paramount Planet Product about its flat sheets made from fibrillated cellulose, nominated in the 2025 Sustainability Awards. The material is said to offer high strength and scalability, suitable for applications in packaging, barrier films and coatings.
