Coding, marking and labelling solutions provider Interactive Coding Equipment (ICE) has been named Small Business of the Year at the Nottingham Post Business Awards.

The awards celebrate success and highlight innovative companies within the Nottingham area, who are putting the region on the map.  ICE faced stiff competition in its category but the company’s cutting edge technology, which delivers high levels of reliability for its customers, was deemed a worthy winner by the judges.

According to the judges, ICE scored highly on “the unique nature and strength of its business model and the fact that the company is aiming to make itself future proof by continued development of its core offer.”   They were also impressed by ICE’s “single minded vision which was underpinned throughout by quality processes and procedures”, as well as staff communication and development.   The company’s contributions to the community, with links with local schools, colleges and Nottingham Trent University, were also noted.

“It’s fantastic to be receiving this award as we continue to expand our portfolio of products and services in the UK,” comments ICE’s Managing Technical Director Chris Simpson.

“Our talented team’s hard work and dedication to the business over the past 16 years has been incredible and we are glad this has been recognised with this honour.”

The awards presentation ceremony, held at the East Midlands Conference Centre, provided a fundraising opportunity for its chosen charity, the Rainbows Hospice.  ICE has also been supporting the charity, raising over £500 at the recent official opening of its new warehouse facility.

ICE offers a variety of technologies including Thermal Transfer, Print and Apply Labeller and Case Coding machines to suit different application requirements.  The company also provides a range of in-house services such as custom bracket design and production, repairs, spares and consumables, supported by a team of trained technical experts, all of which help customers achieve optimum production uptime.
