Valmatic has revealed its PAPERDOSE Multicolor solution for single-dose packaging said to ensure zero waste, reduce CO2 emissions and adapt to various production runs.
The single-dose format reportedly ensures zero waste and maximum hygiene, preventing any contamination between uses. Valmatic says PAPERDOSE can be disposed of in paper recycling, allowing the raw material to be reintroduced into the production cycle and reducing CO2 emissions.
According to the company, PAPERDOSE Multicolor enables the printing of up to 8 colours on the outer side and has a flexible production process which adapts to various needs, including small and medium production runs.
Valmatic says PAPERDOSE is currently available as a co-packing service, with capacities ranging from 4 to 40 ml. The 3D paper packaging is thermoformed and produced on Valmatic FFS machines using FSC-certified materials.
Launched at the end of 2020, the service was initially intended for packaging concentrated detergents for household use, industrial applications, washing machines, and similar products. Valmatic states it was later found to be suitable for the cosmetics sector and food applications.
Last year the company collaborated with Ital-Agro to create Valpeck, a single-dose paper packaging system designed for Ital-Agro’s Blackjak Bio bioactivator and the agricultural sector. The paper single-doses were said to be easy to use and suitable for various applications in agriculture and gardening, such as packaging biostimulants and fertilizers.
At the end of 2024, Walkers Chocolates announced it would be switching its Turkish Delight and Mint Cream chocolate to 100% kerbside recyclable paper wrappers. Developed by EvoPak, the new paper wrapper (known as RCM) uses the same technology as the ‘world’s first’ fully recyclable crisp packet – the polymer, Hydropol, developed by Aquapak, which is used in place of a conventional plastic liner.
