The single-dose Papersnap pack from Easysnap Technology can be folded and squeezed to dispense liquid products – a design set to ensure full accessibility, avoid loose components, minimize product waste, and streamline recyclability.

Reportedly, Papersnap is made with over 80% FSC-certified paper from responsibly managed forests, including paper-based laminates. The paper can apparently be traced back to its source for full transparency.

The pack is designed to be easy to fold and squeeze with one hand for safe and hygienic dispensing, even on the go. The design is also said to be accessible for children, the elderly, and consumers with disabilities.

Papersnap is considered ‘safe and unbreakable’ unless folded over 90°. By avoiding tear-off parts, it aligns with the EU Plastic Strategy’s approach to tethered caps and lids for all beverage containers of up to 3 litres.

According to Easysnap, a pre-dosed product is the best way to avoid waste – and it claims that consumers can easily dispense 98% of the packaged product.

Furthermore, the pack is manufactured in line with EN 13430 and ISO 14021 requirements and designed for recyclability in the paper stream. Easysnap upfronts the pack’s cyclos-HTP certification and reports that independent testing has demonstrated a 78% recyclability rate.

Now suitable for low-viscosity liquids, the single-dose packaging is recommended for food products such as condiments, sauces, syrups and toppings; cosmetics, including creams, cleansers and perfumes; and pharmaceutical products like eye drops, disinfectants, and aspirin.

Other applications include single-dose pet care products – liquid supplements, skin treatments, grooming products, hygiene solutions, etc. – and chemical products such as soaps, detergents, bleach, and lubricant oils.

The compact and lightweight packaging is expected to optimize logistics and reduce both transport costs and CO2 emissions compared to any other packaging at the same volume conditions.

Easysnap is available in multiple, fully customizable sizes: 40 x 50 mm, 40 x 80 mm, 55 x 70 mm, 60 x 100 mm, 66 x 100 mm, and 80 x 100 mm. Customers can opt for fillings from 0.1 ml to 30 ml.

Companies can also apply product branding and artwork with high-quality flexo and thermal printing.

Compared to thermoforming machinery, Easysnap’s manufacturing technology is believed to lower both footprint and energy consumption by 70% (12 kWh vs 30 kWh).

Easysnap also provides a co-packing service – covering the filling, sealing, printing, and secondary packaging processes in-house – to save customers from investing in new machinery.

In similar news, Valmatic’s PAPERDOSE Multicolor solution for single-dose packaging is said to ensure zero waste, reduce CO2 emissions, and adapt to various production runs. Like Papersnap, it is disposable in the paper recycling stream and is available to customers as a co-packing solution.

Also, UKPACK previously developed a recyclable ‘squeezed dropper’ for skincare oils and serums, designed for precise, one-handed product application and compatible with up to 50% PCR.
