Stevanato Group has created a scalable, customizable pen injector for the pharmaceutical industry, designed for use in areas including diabetes care, weight management and cardiovascular and neurological disorders.
The Alina injector features pre-injection dose indication to avoid underdosing, is compatible with standard pen needles, has dial back for dose error correction and visual and audible feedbacks for dose setting, correction and injection.
Stevanato Group says the pen was developed based on Axis-D intellectual property and technology, exclusively licensed from injection device company Haselmeier. The pen injector’s performance, features and handling are apparently compatible with established therapeutic regimens as well as drug therapies that require a multi-dose delivery device.
Alina also has optimized injection force for patient comfort and a readable display. The pen injector offers a range of customizations from dosing and colour selection to a more customized industrial design based on the needs of the pharmaceutical client.
Stevanato Group states the injector is manufactured at its FDA-inspected facility in Germany, with dedicated production tooling and lines available if requested due to customization considerations or to support overall risk mitigation strategies.
A range of final assembly equipment for the injector from the company’s operations in Denmark and Italy can be made available to clients upon request or the Group can work with existing equipment partners, and support from glass primary container experts is also offered for final assembly and packing solutions.
