Live Puri

Dutch nutraceutical company Live Puri has replaced the metal closures for its vitamin products with fibre-based caps from Blue Ocean Closures, aiming to reduce its CO2 footprint.

The NutraCap is apparently recyclable as paper and made from renewable fibres, designed for the supplements segment. Consumers will be able to buy 7 Live Puri vitamin products packed in glass bottles, featuring the new brown closures.

Maaike Godts, founder and managing director of Live Puri, says: “Sustainability isn’t a single metric. It’s a careful balance of materials, performance, safety, and end-of-life. Finding the most sustainable option can feel like a puzzle. The responsible use of resources, high quality and waste reduction impact, made our decision in this case quite straightforward.”

This isn’t the first time Blue Ocean Closures has collaborated with a brand to replace its supplement bottle caps – last year Scandinavian company Great Earth announced it would be implementing the company’s paper caps for all its supplement products, following a successful pilot.

The company was also the winner of the Recyclable Packaging category in the 2025 Sustainability Awards with its fibre-based screw cap, aiming to reduce plastic use and increase recyclability. We spoke with the company about its entry and plans to commercialize more standard products and expand to other market segments.
