Husky

Husky Technologies has announced the launch of its next-generation HyCAP 4.0 tooling platform, said to combine precision engineering, enhanced durability and production flexibility for beverage closure manufacturing.

Husky says the new tooling platform aims to help manufacturers produce ultra-lightweight closures with ‘exceptional’ precision and repeatability. It also supports consistent part quality for complex closure designs such as tethered closures and maintains tight tolerance and process stability for high-speed production environments, increasing output without compromising quality.

The company adds that HyCAP 4.0 tooling supports tethered and non-tethered closure applications, enabling producers to respond to regulatory changes and market demands while minimizing operational disruption. The system integrates polymer bushings to reduce steel-to-steel contact between critical core components, seeking to minimize wear, maintain consistent performance, reduce the risk of mechanical failure and improve long-term system reliability.

Husky claims that the platform lowers labour costs, decreases spare parts consumption and minimizes unplanned downtime through its durable design, reduced maintenance requirements and improved efficiency. Apparently, the increased tooling stability and simplified servicing enable manufacturers to maximize output and reduce operational interruptions, lowering operating costs and supporting consistent performance in high-volume production.

At the start of this year Husky announced its tamper-evident, mono-PET bottle and closure technology, targeting higher recyclate yield and product security for the Middle East and Africa region. The technology is also designed to streamline the capping process by avoiding bridge stress when passing tamper-evident bands over pilfer-proof features.

In more recent news, Aptar Closures revealed its Harmonic liner-less flip-top sport cap for hot-fill beverage applications, aiming to help beverage brands improve consumer experience and reinforce product security with a customizable design. It also has a visible tamper-evident system and is compatible with high-speed filling lines.
