The newly launched Dymax BlueWave® MX-250™ from Intertronics offers all the benefits of curing using UV LED technology, in a flood lamp configuration which has the power and control suitable for production.
There are significant potential advantages in using LEDs to generate UV light suitable for curing adhesives and coatings in a manufacturing environment. No bulb to change, instant on/off, minimal life-time intensity deterioration, low power consumption and low footprint - factors that can deliver efficiency and reliability in modern assembly areas.
All this comes together in the BlueWave MX-250, as Peter Swanson, M.D. of Intertronics, explains: “The BlueWave MX-250 has a high-intensity LED emitter, which provides better uniformity and more consistent curing-energy emissions than traditional flood curing systems. The emitter delivers a 50mm x 50mm active curing area, but multiple systems can be grouped together to create larger curing pattern matrixes as needed.”
Specification can be selected for a 365nm, 385nm or 405nm wavelength emitter to suit the specific material being cured. Whatever the wavelength, set up and adjustment is provided by a controller which can handle multiple emitters, with full keyboard touch screen and multiple program memory for curing time and intensity cycles. The lightweight emitter can be mounted remotely for automated or semi-automated production.
The BlueWave MX-250 is suitable for the fast curing a wide range of UV adhesives, coatings, encapsulants and temporary masking products used in electronics, medical device, optics, automotive, and other technology fields.
