Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc., the oldest continuously operating paper mill in the United States, has announced the expansion of its alternative fibre offerings with Monadnock Hemp Envi Performance Board.

The new, recyclable product is crafted in the United States, Forest Stewardship Council Certified (FSC C018866), and composed of 30% hemp fibre and 70% post-consumer waste recycled fibre.

“Hemp is an exceptionally strong agricultural fibre that has been used in papermaking for centuries, so who better than our 200-year old company to reimagine its use for the needs of 21st-century brands,” said Julie Brannen, director of sustainability solutions at Monadnock.

Hemp Envi is the latest addition to Monadnock’s Envi Performance Board portfolio, which the company is marketing as a premium alternative to commodity board.

Increasingly sought after by leading brands as they look to meet the challenges of more sustainable packaging options for their discerning consumers, Monadnock says that its papers continue to set the new standard in performance and sustainability.

Available in uncoated, single (C1S) or two-side (C2S) coated versions, Hemp Envi seeks to meet sustainability and performance needs for a wide range of lifestyle and luxury packaging applications, including cosmetics, fragrances, wine and spirits, fashion accessories, health and wellness, jewelry and watches, tech and entertainment, nutraceuticals, CBD, and cannabis.

Hemp Envi is engineered with the goals of delivering high print fidelity, exceptional folding characteristics with full ink coverage, and providing an “excellent” stage for embossing and foil-stamping.

The 18 pt. board is available in 28X40 sheets for immediate delivery, and custom calipers and weights are available by request.
