In this edition of the Spotlight, LEONHARD KURZ tells us about the solutions it will be presenting at drupa 2024, taking place from 28th May-7th June in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Today’s packaging design must be unique and outstanding to attract everyone’s attention within a fraction of a second; at the same time, embellishment should be sustainable - recycled (and even better, recyclable) packaging is in demand; and last but not least; the embellishment process should be cost-efficient.
Is it even possible to meet all these requirements? Fortunately for the industry, drupa is just around the corner - and in Düsseldorf, the focus will be precisely on sustainable, efficient, and eye-catching solutions. This also applies to the KURZ booth E71 in hall 3.
Opposites attract
KURZ always considers what the market needs and which solutions can help their customers. This is why the company’s trade fair appearance is being held under the motto “Rethink what’s possible.”
The specialist in thin-film technologies combine supposed opposites to redefine embellishment and set new standards. For example, KURZ will demonstrate that creativity and technology go hand in hand when it comes to creating unique embellishment.
Visitors can also see for themselves that high-quality design is compatible with sustainability. In fact, products embellished with KURZ are recyclable, as no plastic film remains on the packaging or label after the finishing process.
KURZ will present a total of five theme worlds which seem to be opposing, but the specialist brings together: “Creativity and Technology - falling in love”, “Virtuality and Reality - having a date”, “Desire and Budget - becoming best friends”, “Security and Style - attracting each other”, and “Design and Sustainability - sharing one future”.
Let’s illustrate the concept with two examples for the theme world “Creativity and Technology – falling in love.”
Elegant looks and efficient embellishment
A particular highlight of the trade fair appearance is the new solution SILVER LINE® which creates three-dimensional effects in silver-metallic shades with impressive visual depth. Customers can use SILVER LINE® within their preferred embellishment process, which ensures high efficiency.
A real game-changer in digital embellishment
As a provider of system-matched solutions with long years of engineering experience, KURZ will also exhibit highly innovative digital embellishment equipment at drupa that can implement a broad portfolio of effects and finishes. One of these machines is the DM-MAXLINER 3D. The independent unit combines high-caliber metallization, UV spot varnishing and UV relief varnishing in a single, highly efficient work step, especially characterized by its high production speed (up to 5,100 sheets per hour).
At the impressive 684 m² booth, KURZ will showcase further pioneering solutions by using embellished samples and live machine demonstrations. Interested parties can get an impression in advance or register for an exclusive guided tour by visiting the website: www.kurz-drupa.com.
