Leading print & packaging firm, Qualvis, has won ‘Company of the Year’ at the recent Leicester Mercury Business Awards. Celebrating success, recognising achievement and highlighting innovation throughout the business community in Leicestershire, the event is widely recognised as one of the UK’s most important regional awards.

Qualvis, who occupy a 76,000 sq ft site in Thurmaston, Leicester, were runners up in the ‘company of the year’ category last year. The business has recently become the first packaging company globally to install a double digital packaging line. The workflow investment features a Xerox iGen 4 sheet-fed digital printer, side-by-side with an iGen5 automated line. The company has also invested in a seven-colour KBA Rapida 106 litho press, which will be used for printing confectionery, distillery, cosmetics and high-end food packaging. Both the digital packaging lines and the KBA press represent a total investment of almost £5m in seven months.
