Bormioli Luigi and the House of Armani have created a refillable fragrance bottle featuring a relief décor designed to resemble precious jewellery.

The House of Armani’s Armani Si Intense line is being rolled out in the new bottle. Designed and developed by Bormioli Luigi, it comes in 50ml and 100ml sizes and features a screw neck.

These bottles seek to pay homage to the Si collection’s signature shape while drawing more attention to its interlaced logo. This is revealed by a décor pad printed in gold using precious metal, while the Giorgio Armani name is screen-printed in black on the front of the bottle.

Bormioli Luigi has used a mold to integrate the engraving into either side, with the process said to be ‘particularly demanding’ due to the challenges of defining the motif and ensuring its precision. Applying the screen printing is also described as a ‘delicate process’ due to its close proximity to the relief décor – which, in turn, is said to require ‘specific attention’ during the fire-polishing stage.

As a result of this development, the House of Armani plans to expand its offering of ultra-premium refillable packaging.

Fellow luxury brand Ralph Lauren Fragrances has released its Polo Earth vegan fragrance in a refillable bottle that reportedly incorporates 20% post-consumer recycled glass, a 55% post-consumer recycled carton, and a wood cap into its design.

Coverpla has provided Koesio Parfums and Essential Parfums with its Vertigo, Ulysse, and Venus and Gala bottles, respectively, as refillable solutions to package their perfume lines.

Croxsons has also developed primary glass packaging for refillable skincare essentials brand Necessary Good’s essential skincare products.
