Sabert Corporation Europe intends to provide a fully recyclable packaging solution for chilled food-to-go, confectionery, and bakery products with its multifunctional Tray2Go.

Available in four standard sizes, the double-wall tray with a recessed base is designed for durability, efficient nesting, and secure stacking without compromising product visibility. It features an inner varnish made of PE and a GR coating on one side for oil and grease resistance purposes.

The pack’s feet serve the additional purposes of protecting against conveyor belts in wet food preparation and offering a premium, fully patented design. Tray2Go’s high-clarity click-lock lid can also be closed with one hand to streamline preparation in the manufacturing process, and is set to protect the product during delivery or consumer transportation.

“Practical to use, our new multifunctional and versatile Tray2Go range features a robust and durable double-wall tray design, coupled with an innovative secure fitting click-lock lid,” says Alex Noake, Sabert’s UK & Ireland managing director. “The Tray2Go range is made using sustainable materials and is fully recyclable.

“The board bases, manufactured in the UK, are made with FSC certified material, while the lids are made from rPET, at our facility in Belgium, and comprise a minimum of 50% recycled material.

“Tray2Go represents a practical new sustainable solution for the presentation of sushi, other chilled food-to-go, confectionery and bakery products, and the design enables easy use in food preparation. True to our slogan: ‘Sabert makes food look great’, Tray2Go delivers stand-out shelf presence and premium product presentation.”

The release follows other developments from Sabert, including the respective unveiling of its Snap2Go and Deli2Go ranges. Both feature the same high-visibility lids with one-hand closures while applying to a range of food types.

Similarly, Colpac’s Stagione range is said to offer contact safety, recyclability, and ovenability, while Mondi has supplied its FunctionalBarrier Paper to easy2cool’s paperfloc Eco-Liner e-commerce bag for fresh and frozen food.
