Food company Kellanova has revealed that Pringles is launching its first bagged snack in 15 years, Pringles Mingles.
Apparently, the puffed snacks mix two different Pringles flavours and have a bowtie-style shape inspired by the company’s logo, Mr. P. The product will be available in three flavours: Cheddar & Sour Cream, Sharp White Cheddar & Ranch, and Dill Pickle & Ranch.
“Our iconic Pringles can is part of our identity — and it’s not going anywhere — but we’re always looking for new ways to innovate and satisfy our fans’ latest cravings,” said Mauricio Jenkins, US marketing lead for Pringles. “This puffy, airy snack not only gives fans a new way to experience Pringles, but its easy-to-share packaging creates a new way to enjoy their favorite snack with friends and family, whether munching at home for movie night, at a party or on-the-go.”
Pringles Mingles are due to be rolled out in retailers nationwide in October.
Last month saw Walkers announce the rollout of its new paper outer bags for all Snack A Jacks multipacks, set to reduce the brand’s use of virgin plastic by 65 tonnes per year. Reportedly, the outer paper bag can be widely recycled in home recycling bins, collected at kerbside alongside other paper packaging, and is set to lower the greenhouse gas emissions of each pack by 52%.
KP Snacks’ Tyrrells stated it will be incorporating 25% recycled soft plastics into its sharing range packets in a bid to lower the brand’s reliance on virgin plastics. The new packaging will apply to 150g bags of Tyrrells crisps in its Lightly Sea Salted, Sea Salt & Cider Vinegar, Sweet Chilli & Red Pepper, and Mature Cheddar & Chive flavours. A green on-pack flash will indicate that the packets contain recycled plastic.
