H&T Presspart (a division of the Heitkamp & Thumann Group), a manufacturer of drug delivery components and devices for the pharmaceutical market, has announced the launch of Vytal, an ready-to-use (RTU) snap-fit closure solution for advanced therapeutics.
Vytal is designed to meet the demands of small- to medium-batch production of advanced therapeutics including biologics, mAbs, and cell-based therapies.
Developed under the ISO 13485 and GMP Annex I requirements, H&T Presspart says Vytal helps pharmaceutical companies accelerate their time-to-market while maintaining high quality standards. Its versatility and compatibility with modern filling technologies aims to support companies navigating the competitive pressures of the pharmaceutical landscape.
“We are excited to introduce Vytal to the market as a solution that addresses the unique challenges posed by advanced biologic and cell-based therapies,” said Christian Kraetzig, president of the H&T Presspart Division. “This innovative closure system exemplifies our commitment to providing high-quality, reliable packaging solutions that support the pharmaceutical industry’s drive towards innovation and efficiency.”
In related news, last year Eviosys sought to improve accessibility last year with the latest addition to its Orbit closure range, the 66mm diameter closure for jars, designed to be opened without force. The company stated hat there is a growing need for inclusive packaging in the global food market, with the company’s latest research finding that 82% of consumers often struggle to open metal lids on traditional glass jars.
More recently, Vetter announced it is developing a new version of its V-OVS syringe closure system for sterile injectables, set to offer tamper-evidence, size variety, a new locking mechanism, and updated gripping surfaces for improved opening and handling. It also aims to optimize user control during opening with new gripping surfaces, while a ‘robust’ locking mechanism is expected to hold the closure in place ‘even during the most challenging clinical use cases’.
