Foopak Bio Natura is a sustainable paperboard developed for food and beverage packaging. It is safe for direct food contact and still provides reliable performance for everyday applications.
The material is durable, grease-resistant, and works well for cups, trays, and other common packaging needs. It offers an eco-friendly option for brands that want to be sustainable without compromising quality.
Aligned with European Packaging Standards
Foopak Bio Natura is backed by internationally recognized certifications that meet strict European food safety and sustainability standards. These credentials assure brands that the material is safe for direct food contact and aligns with Europe’s growing focus on responsible packaging under regulations such as the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
The paperboard is certified by ISEGA in Germany under BfR standards, confirming its safety for direct food contact, and it is also certified by Cyclos-HTP for recyclability under EU standard EN 13430. It meets the EN 13432 industrial compostability standard and NF T51-800 for home compostability and uses wood sources certified by PEFC and SFI. The material additionally complies with FDA, EU Food Contact, ensuring it is safe and suitable for food applications.
Foopak supports sustainability through key European events

Foopak has shown its strong commitment to sustainable food and beverage packaging in Europe in 2025. At FACHPACK 2025 in Nuremberg, Germany, it showcased its compostable Foopak Bio Natura paperboard at a major packaging trade fair. In the sports space, the brand supported the ORLEN Prague Marathon with 80,000 compostable cups and the Napoli City Half Marathon with 40,000 eco-friendly Foopak Bio Natura cups. Foopak also previously supported the Generali Prague Half Marathon.
The paperboard brand has also taken part in events across Asia, Latin America, and the United States, including ProPak Asia in Bangkok, Foodservice Australia, Pack Expo Las Vegas, Expo Pack Mexico, Natural Products Expo West in California, and the LA Marathon, along with other industry exhibitions across these regions. These activities reflect Foopak’s global effort to promote sustainable packaging and connect with partners who share the same environmental goals.
Looking ahead, Foopak is preparing for more events and collaborations in 2026, including Interpack in Düsseldorf on 7-13 May 2026, as one of its key upcoming European showcases. The brand is also planning additional exhibitions and more running-event partnerships, signaling a strong openness to collaboration in the sustainability space.
