Avery Dennison has announced winning the 2018 Sustainability Award for its new Sustainability Procurement Program at the Label Industry Global Awards ceremony in Rosemont, Illinois.

The Label Industry Global Awards, created in 2004 to celebrate innovation and excellence, are presented annually during Labelexpo. The sustainability award is presented for a specific sustainable product or process by a supplier/converter company in the label industry introduced during 2017, that has a demonstrable impact in the industry.

Avery Dennison’s Sustainability Procurement Program is a collaborative evaluation platform that provides sustainability ratings and performance improvement tools for the company’s global supply chain. The program’s overall objective is to stimulate and engage suppliers in a continuous improvement process related to sustainability.

Avery Dennison engaged EcoVadis, a leading sustainability performance rating solutions provider, to operate the program. The platform delivers simple and reliable scorecards to monitor supplier best practices. A total of 21 internationally recognized sustainability criteria are reviewed and separated into four criteria themes: environment, social, ethics and supply chain.
