Quadpack has expanded its range of on-the-go skincare and makeup tottles with new shapes and applicators – all made of recyclable materials and with PCR options, the company says.
Designed for easy use and transportability, each of the tottles are said to come with LCA-based environmental impact data for customers to consult.
The Oval Bottle is geared towards face and hand creams, sunscreens, and masks. It comes in a multilayer version, implementing an EVOH barrier in a bid to protect the product against the elements; and a mono-layer option, which is made of recyclable polyethylene and polypropylene and can contain up to 50% PCR content in its bottle and cap.
As it is available in 35ml and 50ml sizes, Quadpack describes the solution as ‘travel-friendly’. It is also thought to be impact-resistant.
Meanwhile, the Nau Bottle is long and flat, and is therefore recommended for eye treatments and serums. The design apparently ensures that every drop of the product is accessible, meaning nothing goes to waste when the pack is thrown away.
Like the Oval Bottle, it is made of polyethylene and polypropylene with up to 50% PCR in the bottle and cap. Quadpack clarifies that it is also available in three-layer EVOH configurations, and that both versions are 15ml in size to fit into purses and handbags.
Additionally, the Torso, Uruk, and Warka Tottles are made entirely of polypropylene. Up to 50% PCR can be implemented into the cap and reducer, Quadpack says, and the whole pack is reported to be fully recyclable.
The mono-material solutions are targeted at brands whose priorities lie in both design and environmental responsibility. Intended to be durable and ‘extremely’ flexible, the tottles come in 30ml and 50ml sizes and can carry face creams, sunscreens, and foundation.
“There’s something satisfying about using tottles,” said category specialist Mónica Arcos. “They are comfortable to hold and their squeezability gives you a sense of control.
“Tottles are perceived as a more premium product than standard tubes and we’re seeing a surge in demand. We’re always working to offer the best solutions and that’s why we are opening up the choice with trendy shapes and sizes.
“By adding decoration and textured finishes, brands can give a whole new twist to their beauty products.”
Quadpack’s Creative Hub is in the process of developing new tottles with ‘fresh’ aesthetic shapes and applicators that add functional value while improving the user experience. It can also develop bespoke designs for the products and images of individual brands.
Last year, Quadpack unveiled new additions to its Woodacity personal care and cosmetics packaging collection made of ‘sustainably sourced’ wood. These included caps for monolayer or aluminium tubes and bottles with a standard 24/410 neck, and other easily dismantlable, refillable packaging solutions.
More recently, Berry announced that the polypropylene offerings in its B Circular range of beauty and personal care products are now available with its CleanStream recycled plastic packaging. It can be used in closures, atmospheric and airless dispensers, jars, applicators, and more.
