Quadpack has revealed its BeautyWood 2026 packaging collection, featuring refillable jars, lipsticks and compacts made with its Woodacity mono-material closure systems that function without plastic or other secondary materials.

According to the company, each piece is made of 100% ash or maple wood, sourced from ‘sustainably managed’ European forests. Quadpack adds that its low-emission wood factory uses modern carving techniques that minimize material waste. Production scrap is repurposed as fuel for the facilities.

The new collection focuses on tactile finishes, with ergonomic components made for natural handling. Senior category specialist Denisa Stircea comments: “Our wood experts integrate CNC carving with artisanal finishing, industrialising pure craftsmanship. It’s a modern tribute to touch that will appeal to luxury houses and niche brands looking for storytelling through package design.”

Last September Guerlain adopted Quadpack’s Woodacity Hidden – a wooden cap with a patented closure system – for its limited-edition Habit Rouge Spirit fragrance, aiming to ‘reflect its woody scent’ while avoiding virgin plastics. The cap consists of a two-part structure, reportedly held together by a water-based and biodegradable glue.

In related news, Selfridges has rolled out its packaging recycling scheme -Reselfridges Recycle - at all Selfridges Beauty Halls across Birmingham, Manchester and London’s Oxford Street, offering customers a Selfridges Unlocked Key for every five items recycled as part of the store’s membership scheme. The store partnered with MYGroup to implement the system, which allows used fragrance bottles and other beauty and cosmetic items to be deposited in Reselfridges collection boxes in all four stores.
