Dozz is presenting chilled, ready-to-eat soup in an aluminium can, a product designed to be consumed straight from the pack and recycled at end-of-life.

Thought to be the first product of its kind, the solution negates the need for a bowl, microwave, or cutlery when consuming soup on the go.

Apparently, the format unlocks a chilled shelf life of 4-8 months, depending on the recipe. It is anticipated to provide flexibility for retailers and out-of-home outlets – having reportedly gained traction with several major European stores – and meet consumer demand for convenient, waste-free and sustainability-minded packaging.

The product will officially launch at the Lunch! show in London on 24th – 25th September 2025. Visitors can view the can at stand L222 in the Innovation Gallery.

“Today’s consumers are time-constrained but more health-conscious than ever,” says Ender Bolat, general manager at Dozz. “We created Dozz to be an on-the-go solution, something fast, nutritious and enjoyable.

“Whether you’re commuting, in back-to-back meetings or simply don’t have time to cook, DOZZ offers real food that’s ready when you are, with no heating and no hassle.”

A range of ten flavours, some containing meat and others plant-based, will soon be available to buy in the UK. These include Gazpacho, Mixed Vegetable, Yogurt and Mint, Tomato, Broccoli, Chicken, Chili Bean, Lentil, Mushroom, and Spinach.

The announcement follows a previous report by Metal Packaging Europe and European Aluminium, which suggested that the overall recycling rate for aluminium beverage cans in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, and Iceland has reached 74.6%. Despite a 1% drop, the total amount of aluminium recycled from cans has apparently increased to a ‘record level’ of 580,000 tonnes.

In another can-based redesign, Asahi has upgraded one of its beverage cans; the pack now uses the release of carbon dioxide when the can is opened to float real lemon slices to the surface of the drink for a ‘unique sensory experience’.
