Coveris Rypin has collaborated with Polish brand Brześć to package its ‘puffs’ snacks in a recyclable film, said to improve shelf appeal and support the reduction of packaging waste.
The film’s high transparency allows consumers to view the product directly on shelf, aiming to enhance shelf appeal. It is also optimized for eight-colour flexographic printing with optional matt or gloss finishes, drawing attention to the brand identity.
Brześć’s flagship steamed dough products are puffs – mini eclairs (or crunchy puffs), mini puffs and puffs to fill. The company has long-standing ties with Hadepol Flexo, now operating as Coveris Rypin following its acquisition by the Coveris Group in June 2024. Apparently, this partnership has enabled the rollout of recyclable mono-material film into full-scale production.
“The demand for recyclable packaging materials is aligned with the European Union Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, which requires that all packaging placed on the EU market is recyclable by 2030. Our new packaging responds to this regulation and supports the reduction of packaging waste,” explains Arkadiusz Drążek, CEO of Brześć.
In related news, Constantia Flexibles recently implemented its mono PP laminate EcoVerHighPlus into a soft bag for coffee packaging in partnership with Delica, part of Migros Industrie. The laminate is said to have an advanced material structure aiming to deliver a ‘recyclable-ready’ packaging option without compromising quality or functionality.
The same month KIND Snacks began a pilot for its kerbside recyclable paper wrapper at select Whole Foods Market stores in the United States, utilizing a How2Recycle pre-qualified paper type. The new wrapper will be available at stores in states including Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Texas until October 1st for KIND’s Dark Chocolate Nuts & Sea Salt single bars.
