The All-in-One Inspection Unit from WIPOTEC-OCS combines X-ray for foreign objects detection and precision checkweighing in a single vision system that can also verify label placement, barcode legitimacy, film detection, and validation of expiration.

According WIPOTEC-OCS, the All-in-One also includes an advanced reject system that sorts rejected products by pre-set categories, which the company says is the first time it has combined so many inspection functionalities in one machine.

The company adds that the machine process features its Elector-Magnetic Force Restoration (EMFR) weigh cells, a differentiating engineering design that apparently guarantees precise weighing results. The X-Ray scanner can reportedly identify foreign objects made of metal and other materials, with filers available to track for certain other abnormalities.

Additionally, the machine’s vision system can flag errors such as incorrect film, label placement, or missing labels, or other aesthetic-driven quality control issues, according to the company. When an issue is flagged, the machine rejects a product and then places it in a predetermined category so that operators can examine the issue and adjust the process accordingly.

WIPOTEC-OCS says that the new All-in-One is controlled by a single intuitive HMI, making it a space- and cost-saving option for both food and beverage and pharmaceuticals manufacturers.

The All-in-One Inspection Unit will be debuted by WIPOTEC-OCS at Booth C12101 at the International Production & Processing Expo, which will run from the 25th to the 27th of January in Atlanta, USA.

Last year, WIPOTEC-OCS introduced the HC-A-V Checkweigher, a compact quality control solution combining checkweighing technology with visual inspection, and its next generation, space-saving Modular Multilane System for weighing, both at PACK EXPO in Las Vegas.
