TOMRA’s new single-feed reverse vending machine, TOMRA T100, upfronts an attractive design, accessible placement, sustainability-minded material choices, and more.

TOMRA T100 is compatible with all types of beverage containers, including glass. With an identical physical footprint to the previous TOMRA 19 model, the new machine is reportedly compatible with TOMRA’s existing backroom container storage solutions – enabling easy upgrades from other reversing vending machines and extending their lifespan.

The machine comes in two versions: one focuses on single-container glass returns, while the other combines single-container returns at the top with crate returns at the bottom.

If customers opt for a bottle-only machine, they can install the machine at different heights – unlocking customizability for different store layouts and ensuring full accessibility for consumers. Equally, customers do not need to change the entire unit to upgrade their bottle-only machines; they only need to fit a crate module into the lower section.

A built-in sensor recognizes when consumers are approaching the machine and activates the display, including a high-brightness display and instructive lights. The interface is designed to be clear and user-friendly, with clear instructions provided to walk users through every step of the deposit process.

Since the TOMRA T100 uses a similar interface and design to the previous TOMRA R2 model, it is hoped to feel familiar and intuitive to consumers.

When the machine is not in use, it activates power-saving features such as dimming and sleep mode.

According to TOMRA, the TOMRA T100 is designed for a minimal environmental impact. Material choices such as anti-corrosion coatings are set to maximize its life cycle; the company also claims to have consulted life cycle assessments to reduce the machine’s overall material use and lower its weight.

TOMRA will update the product web page with a Product Carbon Footprint declaration on 22nd February, aligning with the runtime of Euroshop 2026 (22nd – 26th February 2026) in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The machine’s ‘floating’ wall-mounted design, clean lines, and ‘premium’ surfaces are expected to enhance its visual appeal. Customers can also apply branded graphics to the machine for further customization.

“Not only is TOMRA T100 a real upgrade from the TOMRA T9 in technical terms, it is also super stylish and fits in with the overall look of the TOMRA R2,” said Andreas Hölz, store manager at EDEKA Nolte – one of the German retailers to adopt the machine.

An electronic door lock is intended to help retail staff avoid the stress of missing keys. Additionally, it is designed for easy cleaning and ‘smooth’ daily operations.

Alongside its newest reverse vending machine, TOMRA is also revealing TOMRA Side-By-Side – a unit for entire crates of drinks containers. Designed for space efficiency, it can be installed alongside existing TOMRA reverse vending machine models to fit more storage room layouts.

“TOMRA T100 demonstrates that we are thinking ahead and are now setting a new standard in the field of single-feed systems – both as a standalone solution and as a perfect match for our multi-feed offering,” comments Jonas Døvik, head of Product Unit at TOMRA Collection. “The combination creates a seamless and convenient return experience.

“TOMRA T100 contributes to retailers’ efforts to make their stores attractive and modern for customers, while also considering the life cycle and energy efficiency of their in-store equipment. Building on the technology of TOMRA T9, our latest-generation single-feed offering is tried, tested and transformed.”
