Schreiner Group has revealed its FlexoHybrid 1.200 dpi printing machine at its headquarters in Oberschleissheim, Germany, which combines flexographic and digital printing capabilities in one system.

The company says the new machine is suitable for both small print runs and industrial mass production in terms of quality, efficiency and economy. It is also said to have resource-saving operation, high print resolution and short setup times.

Schreiner Group adds that the standardized machine concept allows usability at other locations, providing the factory floor with additional flexibility and scalability. The company states that customers can expect the same high manufacturing quality regardless of which manufacturing plant the products are made at.

In related news, French labelling company Inessens installed three of Domino’s K300 monochrome inkjet printers at its Imprimerie Bidoit site in Cognac last month, seeking to help customers comply with EU wine labelling legislation through 2D code printing. The K300 models reportedly enhance print quality with a resolution of up to 600 dpi and enable production at speeds of up to 250 metres per minute.

Earlier this month, DataLase has introduced a clear-to-white coating for plastic bottles, aiming to provide an alternative to traditional labels, eliminating filmic and paper materials while delivering full label-equivalent functionality. Designed for integration into high-speed bottling lines with spray-coating units, the new coating is suitable for PET, PP and PC bottles and optimized for beverage, personal care and pharmaceutical applications.
