Canapa Solutions by Paxiom has announced its Vision360 automated inspection system specifically for pre-rolls, said to reduce manual labour and improve throughput.
The Vision360 system provides real-time inspection of a pre-roll’s filter, body, and twist, designed to automatically detect flaws including colour, irregular lengths, tears, cuts, depth inconsistencies, and other imperfections. According to Paxiom, the machine significantly reduces manual labour, enhances throughput and allows producers to consistently deliver high-quality joints at scale.
The company states that the new system rapidly processes and inspects joints with zero compromise on accuracy or speed, and can adjust inspection criteria to align with specific brand quality goals or regulatory compliance.
Paxiom adds that Vison360 is compatible with Canapa’s JuanaRoll and JuanaPack for a fully automated pre-roll packaging line and can also be used by producers that are manually packaging pre-rolls. Vision360 will automatically inspect each pre-roll, sending approved products to the collection bin while diverting rejects to a separate rework bin.
In March, Minebea Intec expanded its portfolio with the launch of a new X-ray inspection system, Dylight S, for upright containers. The system enables the detection of metallic and non-metallic foreign bodies - including glass, rubber, stones or plastic parts - in containers such as PET bottles, liquid food cartons or plastic cans.
Antares Vision Group has collaborated with Oròbix to create AI-GO, an artificial intelligence-driven visual inspection platform developed to meet growing needs for faster, more accurate and adaptable inspection processes. AI-GO can consistently identify complex anomalies such as chromatic impurities, glass fragments, cosmetic defects or foreign bodies.
