DimaPax had developed new DHL Small Parcels in a move set to improve durability and unlock environmental benefits.

According to DimaPax, the new packaging is more durable than conventional alternatives due to reduced abrasion.

At the same time, they are designed to align with increasing awareness of environmental protection and sustainability in the packaging industry.

Small Parcels are now available in all DHL branches in Berlin, and from DimaPax’s online store at www.dimapax.de. Customers will receive an attractive 10% discount if they collect their delivery in person.

“We attach great importance to customer focus, product quality and sustainability,” says DimaPax founder Dmitri Hering. “Packaging should be more than just a means of transportation. It should contribute to environmental protection.”

Other recent developments from DHL include a nomination for a Sustainability Award for implementing pallet wrap into its operations, a move expected to save 300 grams of plastic per pallet; and its adoption of the joint InNo-Liner solution from Cab and HERMA at its site in Nohra, Germany, in hopes of reducing waste by around 60%.

In a similar development, DS Smith has provided Minerva S.A. with its recyclable, resealable Tape Back boxes for e-commerce deliveries. To avoid the use of extra adhesives or tape, the boxes feature two integrated, ‘easy-to-peel’ adhesive strips for easy opening and resealing, and utilize a ‘unique’ locking mechanism in their crush lock or auto-lock bottom design.

Elsewhere in the postal industry, Royal Mail previously sought to reduce CO2 emissions by 84% by using Movopack’s returnable packaging. The solution utilizes rPET sourced from recycled plastic bottles and woven recycled polypropylene, and it is designed to withstand up to twenty reuses by retailers.

Evri has also partnered with Vinted to provide free reusable packaging at Evri ParcelShop locations. Designed to fit a medium-sized Vinted parcel, the pack use two adhesive strips for reuse by buyers and sellers in further shipments.
