Amcor Magic One

Amcor has announced its investment in developing a new airless dispensing system for beauty and personal care brands, said to be compliant with the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation and provide greater flexibility and ‘outstanding’ consumer experience.

The new Magic One airless dispenser features a single engine concept, which Amcor claims can deliver a range of output volumes from 0.3 ml to 1 ml, combined with different capacities and designs. This aims to enable manufacturers to tailor the dispenser to a range of requirements, bringing products more quickly to market and allowing the development of family ranges.

The single engine design means companies only need to invest in one set of validation testing across all Magic One variants. Manufactured with 100% polyolefin, the dispenser is ‘recycle-ready’ in countries with the appropriate infrastructure in place, and its restitution rate of 96% is said to meet PPWR recyclability standards.

The new dispenser is reportedly 9% lighter than other airless dispensers from Amcor and can include recycled polymer from the company’s proprietary CleanStream recycling technology.

Last month Amcor unveiled its new shaped standard bottle for the beauty and personal care sector, available with a low minimum order quantity (MOQ) and a range of customizable options. Suitable for products such as hair care, bath and shower and skincare, the bottle is available in 100 ml, 250 ml and 500 ml sizes.

In other personal care news, INEOS Olefins & Polymers Europe has launched its Recycl-IN hybrid polymer grade containing 70% recycled material, said to boost the sustainability of contact-sensitive cosmetics packaging without compromising on quality or performance. The new product is designed for thin-walled injection moulding, fibre extrusion and manufacturing stiff, coloured or translucent components such as screw caps, jars, and lids.
