Berry Global has unveiled a new stackable jar that can help to save space on retail shelves, through e-commerce channels, and in the home with a matching container and closure solution.
The design of the new 500ml Staka jar incorporates a 63mm recess in the base into which the accompany 63mm cap, also from Berry as part of a complete container and closure solution, fits, allowing the jars to be stacked more easily and remain stable.
According to Berry, the cap itself can be specified in a variety of colours, while the ‘square round’ design o the Staka jar is apparently ideal for labelling or sleeving to boost brand identity and individuality on the shelf.
For food manufacturers and processors, Berry says the wide mouth of the jar ensures easy filling. Its multilayer construction allows hot filling and apparently delivers effective product protection for extended shelf life.
For consumers, Berry adds that the jar offers safe and easy handling. It can be used a storage container once emptied or recycled where appropriate recycling facilities exist, according to the company.
John Richardson, general manager of the Berry Corby facility, comments: “Many of our customers have approached us recently, keen to develop stackable jars for all sorts of products from spices and sauces for our food clients to lubricants in the commercial sector, so we feel confident that there is a need for this design.”
Last month, Berry announced a new closure for sauce bottles that it says is lightweight and manufactured from 100% polypropylene (PP), while previous additions to its portfolio of containers include the recyclable Mira sauce bottle with an EVOH barrier layer for product protection and its certified child-resistant bottles for applications such as safety storing cleaning and DIY products.
