Videojet has introduced its 9310 label applicator, designed to help manufacturers achieve more predictable labelling performance for applications including rigid and flexible trays, pouches and containers.
The system is said to aid performance with easier setup and operation and fewer production interruptions, designed for common pre-printed, pressure-sensitive labelling applications. The Videojet 9310 applies labels from 10 to 110mm wide and 10 to 500mm long and aims to help producers in food, personal care, household goods, pharmaceuticals and industrial packaging label consistently with minimal manual intervention.
The company states that the system’s Videojet Intelligent Motion technology automatically manages label web tension, alignment and movement. It also adapts in real time to conditions such as roll diameter, line speed or label format changes, seeking to help maintain stable and controlled label handling during production.
According to Videojet, integrated features such as intelligent unwind and rewind, drive control and automatic label gap detection help reduce web breaks, misapplied labels and unnecessary waste. The open, simplified label path in the 9310 supports ‘fast, mistake‑free’ loading and a touchscreen interface guides setup, operation and troubleshooting.
The system can be adapted to different production line layouts, application requirements and machine configurations, and an optional stand gives users the ability to apply labels to the top, bottom or side of a product with 360° positioning capability. Videojet adds that the system supports Ethernet connectivity and configurable I/O, and optional remote service capabilities (subject to regional availability) provide alerts, dashboards and secure remote diagnostics to help teams respond faster when attention is needed.
In other labelling news, Vitsab International has developed its Freshtag Flight Label to change colour based on temperature exposure and tackle food waste in perishable airline meals. The label uses ‘stoplight’ colour-change technology to signal a product’s integrity: green for safe conditions, yellow for moderate, and red after exposure to unsuitable temperatures.
In the same month, UPM Adhesive Materials introduced its UPM ProCycle portfolio of recycling compatible label solutions, aiming to provide converters and packaging brand owners with a solution that delivers ‘recognized recyclability performance’. The new solutions are designed to deliver consistent adhesion, efficient converting and high print quality for plastics, fibre and glass packaging.
