Contract packing software provider Nulogy has been chosen by Prism eLogistics (UK) Ltd to digitalize its contract packing and shrink sleeving operations as the business aims to enhance agility, operational efficiency and quality.
Within the logistics industry, particularly the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, Prism eLogistics spans a range of products including beverages, cosmetics, and nutritional products, with services including shrink sleeving, distribution, ecommerce, and secondary contract packing.
Operating from its headquarters in Basingstoke, UK, the company says it is seeking to scale its business, eliminate paperwork, and enhance collaboration with brand customers through digitalization.
Having previously relied on software tailored for ecommerce which lacked functionality designed for the specific demands of its contract packing workflow, the company says it recognized the need for a system purpose-built for the growing co-packing area of its operations. Nulogy’s Shop Floor Solution has been selected and it expected to optimize the company’s co-packing operations and drive efficiency and profitability.
The Nulogy system apparently digitalizes the end-to-end contract packing workflow from estimating and planning jobs, to managing materials and inventory on the line, and optimizing labour allocation. The system also facilitates improved quality inspections, and efficient product recall processes with accurate batch tracking.
Prism eLogistics adds that this enhanced recall readiness is essential when working with FMCG brands, allowing for rapid resolution of product issues and ensuring regulatory compliance. Implementation of the software is due to take place in the fourth quarter.
“Digitalizing our processes is a key component of our growth strategy,” said Ian Wright, sales director at Prism eLogistics (UK) Ltd. “In the co-packing industry, where accuracy and efficiency are crucial, partnering with Nulogy will give us the real-time data and insights necessary to streamline operations, control costs, and improve our service quality.
“This solution is essential for supporting our current expansion and for positioning us to meet future demands, ensuring we continue to drive growth and deliver exceptional value to brand customers.”
In similar news, in February Reelables announced the launch of its new active Bluetooth 4”x 8” shipping label, apparently enabling logistics providers, cargo forwarders, manufacturers, and retailers to trace cargo through the supply chain without extra software integration. The labels track when cargo arrives and departs from a facility, what exact cargo is on a truck, and when individual pieces of a consignment or shipment split from each other.
Spanish companies Groenlandia Tech and Inokor announced a partnership in May to create a temperature-controlled cooler, Nuük, designed to transport products or samples in the hospital and pharmaceutical sectors with real-time sample tracking and total access control. The Nuük smart cooler uses both ARPRO Grey and ARPRO 5133 RE with a reported 30% recycled content from post-consumer EPP waste.
