Packsize

Packsize has launched its X6 automated ‘right-sized’ packaging system, aiming to comply with PPWR and said to be capable of creating up to 1,500 flat-bottom boxes per hour from corrugated Z-fold.

Reportedly, the X6 has the flexibility to produce both boxes with flaps and corrugated trays, aiming to facilitate integration with goods-to-person and shuttle systems. The company states that producing right-sized trays enables picking directly into shipping boxes, and can replace the need for totes as they provide enhanced ergonomics and are conveyable and usable with various operator workstations.

The X6 will be available with box closing and lidding modules and is due to be displayed at LogiMAT in Stuttgart, Germany, March 11-13, 2025, and at ProMat in Chicago, IL, March 17-20, 2025.

Brian Reinhart, chief revenue officer at Packsize, commented: “In addition to delivering an industry-leading throughput, the X6 produces a broad range of box sizes, including the capacity to produce boxes small enough to fit through envelope slots. This capability supports our customers by enabling them to comply with new regulations such as the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and furthers the Packsize mission of reducing environmental impact with tailored, right-sized packaging solutions that make a difference.”

In related news, PakTech introduced its TwinKlip Applicator last September, seeking to provide ‘precise, consistent, and automated’ application of PakTech TwinKlip Handles to products such as shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The company claims the applicator can adjust to accommodate multiple different products on the same machine without sacrificing speed.

Last month Ranpak announced three integrated solutions that apply recyclable and biodegradable pads or void fill to e-commerce and industrial packages. The solutions combine automation and protective paper technology, seeking to reduce the labour and training required of human operators.
