ALPLAhana has announced its first down-lock dispenser pump, made entirely of polypropylene (PP) and aiming to maximize recyclability, reduce components and offer a customizable complete system.
The joint venture between the ALPLA and HANA Innovation companies is due to present two variants of the dispenser solution at the Beautyworld Middle East trade fair, taking place in Dubai at the end of October.
Designed to add logistical value for customers and save shelf space, the two standard versions of the down-lock dispenser with a nominal output of 2 and 4 millilitres (ml) are available with a smooth or ribbed-neck finish for standard closure sizes. The companies say the colour, head and closure can be customized as well as the outputs in defined ranges, in line with customer requirements.
‘Our solution strengthens the circular economy, saves material and increases recyclability. It does not require a metal spring, requires fewer components and some of them can also be made from post-consumer recycled material (PCR),’ states Sree Hari R Nair, global head of Business Pumps and Devices at ALPLA.
‘Many multinational brand manufacturers want to make their portfolios more sustainable and environmentally friendly. We can do this worldwide, to the highest quality standards and according to customer requirements,’ emphasizes Michael Feltes, managing director of ALPLAinject.
In June, ALPLA acquired Heinlein Plastik-Technik in a move anticipated to expand its pharma division through closure systems, dosing systems, and application aids for pharmaceutical and medical products. Heinlein’s 22,000m2 site utilizes injection moulding technologies and assembly machines to manufacture primary packaging made of plastic.
ALPLA recently partnered with zerooo to develop a standardized solution for cosmetics and care products, using reusable and recyclable PET bottles. A laser-engraved 2D data matrix code provides information on the contents of each bottle and its circulation.
