Solid dose packaging company Aylward Enterprises aims to provide ‘100% count verification and reject-on-the-fly performance’ for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and healthcare packaging lines with its TCM Tablet Counter, said to feature patented product counting technology and advanced vision inspection.
The TCM also features quick-change modularity and is designed to offer manufacturers a compact, good manufacturing practices (GMP)-ready solution that ensures product accuracy, quality, and compliance across all batch sizes.
The company states that the TCM has an integrated camera system that verifies 100% of product counts while detecting and rejecting chipped, broken, or color-discrepant tablets in real time, without interrupting production. Its reject-on-the-fly feature aims to enhance efficiency and safeguards batch integrity, while four product contact parts and an open, easy-to-clean design support strict adherence to current GMPs.
Aylward Enterprises says the system’s tool-less, recipe-driven changeovers streamline high-SKU environments, reducing downtime and simplifying operator training. A customizable, user-friendly Human Machine Interface (HMI) with Allen Bradley or Mitsubishi controls ensures ‘seamless’ operation, while Title 21 CFR Part 11 compliance enables secure data handling and regulatory traceability.
The company adds that its small footprint and modular design make the TCM ideal for facilities seeking to optimize production space without sacrificing throughput or accuracy.
Back in March, Theegarten-Pactec announced that its BHS high-speed machine for bouillon cubes set a ‘new speed record’ with an output of 3,000 packaged products per minute, offering additional features for minimized downtime, increased hygiene, and more. Apparently, the BSH handles and packs soft bouillon with 30% of the company’s previous minimum pressure resistance, with the continuous flow of movement reducing the acceleration forces acting on the products while increasing output.
More recently, Rotzinger PharmaPack launched a new filling and capping platform for over-the-counter (OTC) products such as non-aseptic pharmaceuticals as well as solid and liquid products from the cosmetics, personal care, and nutraceutical industries. The VarioFill solution enables manufacturers and contract fillers to process different products and closures on a single platform, from non-aseptic pharmaceutical liquids such as eye drops and cough syrup to cosmetics such as face serums and solid dosage forms such as tablets and capsules.
