AstroNova has announced plans to launch two high-performance digital label presses and a direct-to-package printer at FESPA Global Print Expo 2025 in Berlin, Germany, aiming to deliver speed, flexibility and cost-efficiency for the light to medium production segment.
AstroNova says it will extend its QuickLabel line for light production digital label printing with the introduction of QL-425 (A4 wide) and QL-435 (A3 wide) professional label presses. The company will also introduce the VP-800, its latest solution to print on packaging materials including corrugated cardboard, die-cut boxes, padded or plain envelopes, paper bags, and wood.
Designed specifically for label converters, higher volume brand-owners and print service providers (PSPs) focused on medium-volume runs, the new systems are said to combine advanced hardware, intelligent automation and support tools to help customers scale their output while keeping operating costs at a minimum.
Greg Woods, CEO of AstroNova, commented: “We’ve designed these machines to give converters and PSPs the edge they need: more control, more uptime, and significantly lower operating costs. Because of the flexibility of our new print engine system there is greater commonality of components across our products enabling further flexibility for support and future upgrades that addresses inventory requirements for the users and ourselves.”
In similar news, Fujifilm also unveiled plans to commercially launch its HS3000 single pass solution and the Acuity Triton with AQUAFUZE ink technology at FESPA 2025, as well as showcasing its Acuity Ultra Hybrid Pro with full automation. With a slightly smaller footprint, lower speed and a lower investment cost, the HS3000 aims to open up the possibilities of single pass to a broader audience.
As part of our Innovation Spotlight series, Joan Perez Pericot, vice president and general manager of HP’s Industrial Print Software & Solutions Business, recently detailed how the company’s automated presses can help print service providers (PSPs) improve print production and solve data challenges. He highlighted that the rise in e-commerce and demand for customized products and fast delivery is pushing PSPs to adopt new print-on-demand capabilities.
