Domino Printing Sciences has introduced its K300 piezo inkjet printer and Dx-Series range of CO2 laser coders, aimed at providing life sciences manufacturers with end-to-end solutions for advanced variable data printing, including 2D codes at the individual dose and item level.

Domino states that all its advanced variable data printing solutions support manufacturers’ current regulatory requirements, including product printing and identification using global GS1 standards, data capture and verification, and traceability solutions for visibility throughout the value chain.

The company’s new K300 printer is designed for high-speed variable data printing including 2D code applications on blister foils, flexible films, medical papers and single-dose blow-fill-seal ampoules and vials. The Dx-Series range of CO2 laser coder is said to deliver fast, flexible coding onto a range of packaging substrates including paper, carton, glass, various types of films, and plastic blister packaging.

Domino adds that the K300 and Dx-Series have been rigorously tested and approved for use in the life sciences sector, including compliance with 21 CFR part 11 for the US and Annex 11 in Europe. Both solutions can be installed as standalone units or alongside Domino’s automated coding and vision systems as part of a closed-loop printing and verification solution.

In January, the company revealed its new Mx350i-eP electric pallet labeller, designed for improved efficiency and said to require up to 40% less energy and up to 50% less factory air than previous generation pallet labellers. Features include an applicator arm designed to reduce pinch points and with built-in collision detection functionality to automatically stop and safely move away in the event of a collision or failure.

In related news, DTM Print introduced its LX4000e Color Label Printer the following month, said to reduce downtime, ensure maximum productivity and give users more control over their printing operations. The printer has a native 1200 dpi resolution with a maximum print resolution of 1200 dpi x 4800 dpi, and can print labels up to 210 mm (8.25”) wide and 610 mm (24”) long.
