Multi-application possibilities, accuracy and throughput: a new solution for the beverage sector. This is what Markem-Imaje proposed at IPACK-IMA, highlighting integration and data management.

Different carton shapes, but also the need to apply several labels on the same pack are some of the variables that need to be taken into account when labeling beverage-sector packaging.  GS1-128 compliant, Markem-Imaje’s new Print & Apply 2200 Flex SE provides the versatility to meet the requirements of the most specific applications, guaranteeing throughput and flexibility.

Launched by the company in 2017, the coder has already been successfully implemented on the lines of world soft drink market leaders, considerably enhancing productivity and efficacy.  The 2200 Flex SE now makes it possible to label over 90 products a minute. Characteristics offered by this technology include the possibility of operating at reduced distances up to 250 mm between packs, even at maximum production speeds, as well as flexibility when it comes to positioning labels, which can be applied on front or side, or both.  The unit’s compact dimensions are designed to minimize production line changes, with no need to install devices for rotating or spacing products, which means that labeling can be carried out even on the most irregular surfaces.  It features minimum operator intervention, with training in system use taking five minutes, and label and ribbon changes requiring less than 40 seconds.

The 2200 Flex SE communicates with other machines on the line through MarkemImaje’s CoLOS software which meets the most advanced requirements for designing and managing messages (variable data, barcodes and logos), ensuring code compliancy with sector standards and complete traceability of products throughout the Supply Chain.
