Solutions to help fruit growers and processors deal with some of the sector’s latest global packing challenges will be the theme of the Proseal stand at Fruit Logistica 2019.

Major current trends include the anti-plastic backlash that is leading to the introduction of alternative materials for trays, and the increasing focus on the importance of minimising food waste. At the same time, in competitive markets, the need for maximum speed and efficiency on the packing line remains. Experts from Proseal will be on hand to explain how tray sealing can assist fruit companies in meeting these differing requirements and discuss the various options available.

As part of this, Proseal will launch a unique seal testing system that enables growers to determine the ideal seal strength for individual products and create the best seal each time.

In addition, the company will showcase two models from its tray sealer range that ideally illustrate its ability to meet different production requirements. Both the GT0S and GT4S feature compact space-saving designs with high throughput and rapid tool changes. The GT0S is capable of sealing up to 80 atmospheric packs per minute on a three-impression tool, while the GT4S can reach speeds of up to 140 atmospheric packs per minute with a seven-impression tool.

The S specification machines have been designed for customers with more uniform pack requirements, offering atmospheric, gas flushing and hermetic shrink sealing. For companies needing to switch frequently between different pack types, E version models are also available with additional sealing choices.

The machines feature a rugged and hygienic food industry approved construction with washdown protection. A user-friendly menu driven control panel with step-by-step prompts, error and status displays, and batch pack counter ensures ease of set-up.
