Newtec has revealed a new weighing solution for the convenience and processed food sector, offering customers ‘an additional layer for rapid distribution’ with memory pans for portion weighing.

The 2008PCM / Memory Pans model is compact and intends to provide quick, convenient weighing operations for a range of foods, including dried and snack foods, small frozen products, and small, fresh, cut foods.

Among the model’s reported features is an increased capacity of up to 140 portions per minute, improving upon the capacity of the 2008PCM model without memory pans. It is designed to be durable, reliable, and long-lasting in industrial production environments.

“Our new precise and fast weighing solution is a testament to our dedication to providing innovative and durable solutions that empower businesses to thrive in today’s competitive market,” said Mathias Theil Eilertsen of the Newtec R&D team. “With high accuracy and high speed, the weighing solution addresses the needs of the fresh produce and ready-to-eat industries.”

“Compared to the previous model, 2008PCM, the data processing capabilities have been enhanced, resulting in superior accuracy,” continues software developer Mathias Hansen. “The typical giveaway is less than 0.6%. The machine can be connected to Newtec WebServices for remote servicing and for capturing production data.”

Its intuitive interface is also thought to make the machine easy to use for operators with a range of levels of experience.

“Through customizable settings, you can adapt the machine to specific product requirements, accommodating the unique needs of different processed food items,” Hansen adds.

Klas Lykke Jørgensen, another member of the R&D team, elaborates on the machine’s output despite its small footprint: “With its compact design, the footprint remains the same as the existing 2008PCM. However, due to the additional layer of memory pans, the weighing machine can reach the impressive capacity of up to 140 portions/min.

It is a small, but very powerful machine, operating as standalone or connected to other Newtec machines. With advanced technology, our weighing machine delivers swift and efficient measurements, contributing to increased production rates.”

Customers can also opt for a washdown trolley. It is said to reduce damage during transport to the washdown area and protect the main machine from high-pressure water.

All removable washdown items from the weighing machine come with dedicated positions, and the weigh pans are designed to enable water flow to clean thoroughly in the open position. It also enables tool-free mounting and dismounting and easy reassembly after high-pressure washdown, according to Newtec.

The solution made its debut at Fruit Logistica in Berlin, taking place between 7th and 9th February and is now available to purchase. Newtec’s product web page provides further technical specifications.

Meanwhile, Wipotec unveiled its HC-A-EX Checkweigher last July. Designed for manufacturing environments that pose a ’moderate risk’ of explosion incidents, it aims for precision in its checkweighing process and features nickel-coated conveyor belts to lower adverse conductivity.
