Coverpla

Coverpla has expanded its packaging model with the launch of a made-to-measure service ranging from cap to bottle, covering design, tooling and production even for small runs.

Coverpla’s traditionally offers ‘mix-and-match’ packaging solutions using standard components that can be personalized through decoration and finishing. Aiming to better respond to market demand, the company says its new made-to-measure capabilities include all packaging components such as bottles, caps and pumps as well as specific decoration solutions like in-mould engraving, bottle or cap coverings and accessories.

The new packaging model also includes ‘exclusive’ glass shapes created in direct partnership with glassmakers. Coverpla manages the design, tooling and production, with production runs starting at 5,000 units.

In similar news, Guerlain has adopted Quadpack’s wooden cap with a patented closure system for its limited-edition Habit Rouge Spirit fragrance, aiming to reflect its ‘woody’ scent while avoiding virgin plastics. The cap is reportedly made using ash from sustainably managed forests, manufactured at Quadpack’s ‘low emission’ production plant in Catalonia, Spain.

The following month saw Cut By Fred package its Detox Stick Shampoo in Amcor’s refillable, mono-polypropylene Exclusive stick; the partners aim for a straightforward, hygienic, and mess-free refill process, as well as recyclability at end-of-life. The refill can be inserted into the original pack, set to minimize contact with the formula and reduce the likelihood of product contamination.
