At drinktec 2017, WestRock showcased a range of scalable beverage packaging solutions which John Perkins, VP Global Systems at the company, told Packaging Europe, are designed to evolve with the consumer.
One highlight on stand was the DuoDozen 1210 Combo, offering three machines in one and combining secondary and tertiary packaging. This fully integrated machine solution for beverage cans and bottles wraps, groups and tray packs, generating flexibility for secondary multipacks and tertiary trays. It maximises existing space with limited footprints, increases labour efficiency with one operator, minimizes installation and commissioning time, and eliminates machine to machine hand-offs and re-metering of product.
WesRock also showed a machine capable of double stacking and is able to cater for both small-sized and big-sized packs, combining both trends in one machine. In addition, continuous motion robot technology orientates the product facing the shopper on the shelf.
