BOBST will showcase its capabilities in meeting the evolving and future needs of the packaging industry at FachPack 2018. The BOBST team will talk about innovations for converting and printing solutions for the packaging industry during the event, which takes place at the Exhibition Centre, in Nuremberg, Germany, 25-27 September, 2018.

Jacques Reymond, Head of Product Marketing Business Unit Sheet-fed, said: “BOBST is focused on continually innovating its solutions and developing game-changing technologies that enable packaging manufacturers and converters to improve efficiency in the production hall and deliver added value to their customers. At FachPack, the team will highlight the possibilities available to customers to deliver operational excellence and superior quality across all platforms.”

The move towards Extended Color Gamut (ECG) printing has led BOBST to develop a range of new and unique technologies to support customers in this area. The 7-color process, developed by the REVO Technology Team of leading industry suppliers, combines with the Digital Flexo automation to provide perfect color consistency, fully digitized press operation and almost non-stop production on web-fed narrow-web lines equipped with the system, such as the M5 and M6 inline UV flexo presses. The open ECG system introduced this year works optimally on latest wide-web CI flexo presses such as the 20SEVEN, using solvent-based or water-based inks.

In gravure, innovative technologies such as the RS 6003 platform will be illustrated, alongside other BOBST models which make up the most comprehensive range of gravure solutions in the industry.

Converters will be interested to find out more about the latest generation of equipment, from standalone to fully integrated custom-made lines, including K5 VISION compact vacuum metallizer, AluBond® and AlOx integrated processes. The new range of CO coating lines have been developed to fulfil the requirements of a large variety of applications most notably in the field of high barrier film top coating, aluminium foil lacquering and paper coating.

BOBST offers a range of laminating machinery that complements its high performance gravure and flexo printing and converting equipment. Converters can visit the BOBST booth at FachPack to understand more about the compact CL 750D laminator, CL/SL 850 and 1000 machines – the best choice in their respective class of equipment. For the Litho Laminating business, BOBST MASTERFLUTE Touch is the flagship for high productivity lines for sheet and web-fed lines, delivering reliable and unmatched high output. The FOLIOSTAR offers many advantages in the sheet-to-sheet business for displays and short / medium size orders. It can be equipped with the GAPRO NANO glue unit and SINGLE FACE PRE-FEEDER for even more efficiency and superb finished product quality.

As brand owners demand ever higher die-cutting and print quality from their corrugated packaging suppliers, achieving both, while retaining a profit margin, has become increasingly important for box makers. That’s where MASTERLINE comes in.

Using MASTERLINE, just two operators, in two shifts, can process over 20 million square meters of board a year. In its full configuration, a MASTERLINE production system consists of up to eight MASTERFLEX-HD print units and a MASTERCUT 2.1 flatbed die-cutter. A loader, BREAKER 2 FLAT TRACK - a blank separator with automatic bundle arrangement - and a palletizer complete the line.

At FachPack, the BOBST team will talk about the benefits MASTERLINE can bring and introduce a host of other equipment to visitors. This includes FFG 8.20, a range of automated flexo folder-gluers capable of handling between 18,000 and 24,000 boxes per hour. Particular highlights are also SPEEDPACK, the ultimate automatic packer to complement the BOBST folder-gluing line, and Premium Gap Control, which ensures total quality folding to exact specifications on 100% of boxes.

Finally, a wide portfolio of services will be presented on the stand to show customers how they can keep their equipment at extraordinary levels of performance and quality.
