Capri Sun Group and Porta’s shareholders today announced that they have agreed that Pouch Partners AG, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Capri Sun Group Holding AG, will purchase all the shares of the Italian packaging company Porta Imballaggi Flessibili S.p.A.
Capri Sun, owned by Hans-Peter Wild, intends to double its beverage business in the next five years as well as to double its machinery and pouch making division Pouch Partners, which in addition to supplying Capri Sun, is supplying a range of food, pet food and beverage customers around the world.
Porta, currently a provider of flexible films to the Capri Sun Group to make its iconic Capri Sun pouches, has been operating as a family owned business for the last 50 years.

This acquisition will be a another building block in our journey to become the number one pouch specialist in the world, combining the supply of pouch machinery with the supply of foils and pre-made pouches. With the production of over six billion pouches a year, we have the scale and expertise to be a total solution provider in the pouch packaging market.”

Pouch Partners is led by German born Dirk Hejnal, who joined INDAG in 2016 to help solidify its position as a global leader in pouch packaging. Porta’s operations will continue to be led by Mr. Gianluca Tonini who has been the Managing Director for Porta for the past eight years.
Pouch Partners is exploring further merger and acquisition opportunities in the pouch packaging industry.
