Petainer, the market leader in innovative PET packaging, has launched a stand-alone business in Brazil as part of its growth strategy for the Latin American region.
Petainer is targeting the rapidly growing craft brewing sector in Brazil and large regional brewers with its innovative one-way PET kegs.
Brazil is the third largest beer market in the world behind China and the US and, despite the economic crisis, craft beer sales are growing by 40% a year. Petainer brings its expertise of supporting the growth of brewers around the world to Brazil. Its customers include the top three global breweries, as well as well-known craft brewers such as Bodebrown in Brazil, Steamworks in Canada, Stone in the USA and Rothhammer in Chile.
Ricardo Leonel Vieira has been appointed as Petainer’s Country Manager in Brazil, based in Sao Paulo. He has responsibility for growing Petainer’s share of the Brazilian market, managing the relationship with established partners such as KHS, as well as expanding the distributor network in the region. By establishing a local presence, Petainer can ensure on-demand availability and supply for brewers.
Chris McEwan, Group Business Development Director, commented: “Latin America is of strategic importance to Petainer, particularly in terms of growing our one-way PET keg business. We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ricardo Leonel Vieira who has excellent local market expertise and a successful track record in building businesses in the region.”
Petainer will officially launch its presence in Brazil at this year’s Brasil Brau which is taking place at Sao Paulo Expo, from 26 to 28 July. Petainer will be sharing the stand with KHS, its official distribution partner in the region - stand no: E 08
Petainer will be showcasing its market-leading one-way 20 and 30 Litre petainerKeg™, which is increasingly being used as a more economical and efficient alternative to traditional steel kegs and glass bottles by brewers around the world.
PetainerKeg™ is used only once and is fully recyclable, cutting out costly return logistics and washing processes. In addition to significant cost of ownership and sustainability benefits, it provides enhanced product protection, making sure that the beer is as good as the day it was brewed for over nine months*.
Ricardo Leonel Vieira, Brazil Country Manager, Petainer, said: “Petainer is launching petainerKeg™ in Brazil to offer breweries the best quality, economical solution to protect and preserve the quality of their draught beer. Our local presence ensures on-demand availability and supply assurance for brewers.”
