Bonafarm’s Sole-Mizo is adopting SIG’s state-of-the-art Midi 12 Aseptic filling machine and carton packaging for its dairy products; the partners have set their sights on combined flexibility and high efficiency in the production process.
Going forward, Sole-Mizo plans to pack its dairy products in SIG MidiBloc and SIG MidiFit carton packs, with the latter making its debut on the Hungarian market. Apparently, its unique shape and design enables drip-free pouring, as well as easy opening and closing to enable vertical and horizontal storage.
Set to package such Sole-Mizo products as extended shelf life and ultra-high temperature milks, SIG MidiBloc and SIG MidiFit are both expected to communicate to consumers that their contents are ‘truly special’ and of high quality.
Both carton pack formats can be filled on the same SIG Midi 12 Aseptic filling machine in volumes ranging from 500ml to 1 litre, SIG explains. The machine can reportedly fill 12,000 of the specified carton packs per hour.
Users can also switch packaging formats, volumes, opening solutions, and packaging materials at speed, it is claimed, which streamlines flexibility and maximizes production capacity.
“Our close partnership with SIG offers clear differentiation for our Mizo brand in Hungary,” says Titus Kuk, plant manager at Sole-Mizo. “SIG MidiFit and SIG MidiBloc carton packs will bring a new dimension in long-life packaging to both retailers and consumers, catching the eye and representing our premium products. We will stand out in an increasingly competitive marketplace.”
Jovana Pinter, head of Sales South East Europe at SIG, adds: “Our filling technology offers the unique opportunity to achieve maximum levels of flexibility for our customers, in terms of products, formats and volumes fillable on the same machine. Being able to fill different products into different packaging types on the SIG Midi 12 Aseptic filling machine means Sole-Mizo can adapt quickly to changing needs of consumers and retailers.”
Earlier this year, the SIG Prime 55 In-Line Aseptic was revealed. As a filling system for the in-pouch sterilization of pre-made, spouted aseptic pouches, it sought to simplify the supply chain and reduce the cost of production.
Syntegon’s Ampack also used a flexible FBL filling machine to gently and aseptically fill preformed HDPE, PP, and PET bottles with milk- and plant-based drinks, baby food, dairy products, and soups. Its simple maintenance concept, including movable dosing stations for streamlined inspection and component maintenance, is thought to enhance productivity and save time during operations.
More recently, Mespack and Fuji Seal have signed a collaboration agreement to develop an all-inclusive sales contract for filling pre-made spouted pouches – a move set to replace plastic bottles and reduce plastic consumption while increasing efficiency.
