In the latest edition of the Spotlight, Easyfairs outlines the features of the London Packaging Week showcase, taking place on the 11th-12th September this year.
Whether you’ve visited London Packaging Week or not, there’s a good reason it has an unrivalled reputation for crafting the future of packaging. Staying at the cutting edge of a fast-moving industry like packaging isn’t easy.
That’s why the industry is brought together under one roof at the ExCeL venue for London Packaging Week, a blockbuster showcase where the next generation of sustainable and stylish packaging projects is born.
“Packaging is everything,” stated Candy Kittens co-founder Jamie Laing. “It’s your CV, signature, and brand, so for me, packaging is one of the most crucial things. Packaging is one of the most fundamentally important things you will ever do within your business.”
Such a view underlines the importance of London Packaging Week. Taking place on 11th and 12th September 2024, the event will bring together leading experts, innovators and enthusiasts, connecting them to formulate and facilitate the future of the industry.
Last year saw more than 4,500 visitors and 190 exhibitors in attendance. Organisers are anticipating similarly high demand this year, with hundreds of the world’s biggest suppliers and thousands of designers, packaging developers, marketers, founders and buyers relying on the event to once again drive innovation and creativity.
Four co-located events combine to offer brand teams an unrivalled and focused forum to source the latest packaging solutions, meet new suppliers and solve their biggest innovation challenges. With Packaging Première focused on luxury packaging, PCD targeted at the beauty packaging community, PLD defining the future of premium and luxury drinks packaging, and Food & Consumer Pack driving packaging innovation across the £200bn market for everyday food, drinks and FMCG products, there’s something for everyone at London Packaging Week.
To maximize the value they can extract from such an all-encompassing event, organiser Easyfairs is encouraging visitors to register for the event sooner rather than later, and ensure that this autumn they are rubbing shoulders with the likes of Waitrose, Marks & Spencer, ELEMIS, Charlotte Tilbury, Diageo, Hotel Chocolat, Mulberry, Burberry, Harrods, and Molton Brown.
“London Packaging Week remains the ultimate platform for packaging businesses to showcase their products,” said James Montero MacColl, senior marketing manager at Easyfairs UK. “It’s the perfect opportunity to survey the trends defining the packaging landscape, which is one of the most fundamentally important aspects of the enduring appeal of brands to discerning customers.
“Packaging, particularly luxury packaging, needs to be experienced, and London Packaging Week will, no doubt, be awash with brand architects dedicated to studying what drives the success of prestige brands.”
For Justin Hutton-Penman, head of product innovation at The Macallan, the exhibition portion of London Packaging Week allows the company to broaden its knowledge of the supplier base. “We need a wider supply base to deliver what we want to over the next 10 years. We need to know what’s out there and what’s new, and places like this help us get our heads around that and understand what’s happening in the marketplace.”
Alongside the exhibition, a supporting educational programme will seek to inspire opportunities and address challenges facing the industry. From the growing role of artificial intelligence and sustainability and the environment, to connected packaging applications and practical lessons in design, there’s something for everyone. From L’Oreal and Chivas Brothers, to Brompton Bicycle, JDO Global, When in Rome and WRAP, the speaker line-up is stacked.
London Packaging Week also hosts its inaugural Innovation Awards in 2024, which are to inspire and celebrate forward-thinking and innovative developments in the supply chain. The first submission deadline for the inaugural London Packaging Week Innovation Awards is Friday, 17 May.
So, mark your calendars and make sure you don’t miss out in 2024. Visitor registration is open and you can secure your place at London Packaging Week today!
