Last month, Elitron previewed its automation solution Klick at Simac in Milan. Klick is Elitron’s newest solution, developed specifically to automate the pre-printing preparation process.

Klick can be interfaced with all printers to speed up the print process, reduce ink wastage, keep the printing bed cleaner, and allow the reuse of otherwise leftover materials.  This system automatically recognises the position of materials and objects freely placed anywhere on the print bed, and manages the workflow accordingly:

Klick 1 recognises the perimeter of the material/s freely placed anywhere on the print bed, and the printer then only prints the design/texture within the perimeter of the material/s recognised, which, as the company claims, results in no more printing over the whole print area, no more waste of ink and reduced print time.

Klick 2 recognises the perimeter of the materials freely placed anywhere on the print bed and nests the shapes automatically or manually using video projection, within the perimeter of the material/s recognised. The shapes are then automatically paired up perfectly with the images to be printed. The online nesting is then ready to be cut on any of Elitron’s cutting systems. This should result in less waste materials and reuse of otherwise leftover materials.

Klick 3 recognises the perimeter of the material/s and objects freely placed anywhere on the print bed and identifies the shapes to be printed. The shapes are then automatically paired up with the images to be printed, which means that objects can be put anywhere on the print bed, with no matrix necessary for objects.
